Your success or failure is totally up to you!
 |
Most important
think to remember, just like any good business you have a product you wish
to sell, in this case it's you. Most model's make the big sin of
uploading images to web sites and sitting back and wait for the customers to
just come running to them, wrong. What happened to marketing your product,
advertising you services, researching the local customers needs and filling
those needs. In short do your homework promote yourself, your services...
|
 |
I have seen
models turn down jobs that were at a low pay just because they felt the job
was below their standards. In my experience one job done tends to lead to other jobs at a
high pay or the kind of job I was looking for to start with. Most companies
work with the thought of "no job is to big or to small" So thing about that
thought and don't narrow your bridge down to a one lane highway leading no
where. |
 |
Follow-up on
emails within the next business day, modeling is a fast paced business, if you are to slow
to respond to
emails, potential jobs may just slide pass you to next model that responds
quicker. |
 |
Keep your
portfolio's info up to date. Change your main image every 7 days or so and
redo your images no less than once a year, 6 months would be best. Note:
Most system's are data base drive and your profile being current puts you higher in
the search. |
 |
Remember you are
the product, be relentless in selling the product but, don't compromises your
values in this pursuit. |
 |
This one is a Big NO NO; Setting up a photo session
and then not showing up and/or not calling the photographer/company to let them
know you can't make it in a timely manor. I can't tell you how bad this one
is, depends on the photographer/company you do it to. Could end your chance
before they even begin. Some will post "don't work with this model they are a
no show no call" in their portfolios or on forum postings that the whole world
can read. |
 |
Show up on time
or a few minutes early to just talk about the session. Say about 10 minutes
early is fine not to early. |
 |
Modeling
profiles and links to a
photographer and work with photographers that link you. Why shoot with a photographer that doesn't link the models
they
worked with. First thing that I think of when I see this is they do not wish you to talk to
the models they have work with, for what reason is the question? Next thing
the more you shoot and link each other the more exposure you both get. That's like
having 4 times the exposure if you shoot with 3 photographers. |
 |
Always show up
with an escort... Lots of the models I have worked with, show up by
themselves, this is just not a good practice. If a photographer/company has a
problem with an escort coming to a session you just don't need to work with
them... |
