What to bring to a TFP (trade for print or CD) photo session? Printer Friendly Adobe 5.0 File
First Thing, is this your first photo session? If so then you need a well rounded portfolio which contains all the styles you plain on modeling. Styles; casual, sporty, trendy, and party style dresses, formal, business, swimwear and lingerie. It is so important to wear outfits that fit the curves of your body shape.
If it is not your first session, the sessions can and mostly likely will be focused on just what you and/or the photographer need, and may still be general in nature depending on individual needs. Try not to use the same clothing on secondary or any follow-up sessions.
Here are some suggestions to bring to your next session, remember you will bring more than you will use. You and the photographer need to first plain and layout the outfits in their priority of shooting, color of backgrounds lighting setup etc.
Main outfits, I like to have at least 8 outfits not including swimwear or lingerie. Makeup kit, to change colors during shoots, lip gloss is a must, and oil for elbows and knees. Hair items, hair brush and hair clips small and large. Dresses, short, formal, causal summery, party styles. Skirts, short, shirts to mix and match with skirts. Designer jeans or jeans with holes in them, leather pants work. Any trendy or fashion styled clothing matched to your age or the age you would like to display. T-Shirts of all colors, with and without graphic designs or logos works fine. Swimwear, bikinis work best, some one peace work. Lingerie, red, black and pink. Fishnet style panty hose are nice with complementary color underneath. Pajamas under 18 is cute, men’s oversized shirts are sexy choices also. Black lingerie for under most outfits is the best unless light colored outfit then use pink or white. House coat or long coat to wear when shooting outdoor below 60 deg.
Some Props: Sunglasses, hats, sporty, designer, even funny hats, Scarf’s, sports equipment. Brief case, cell phone, or other business looking items. Any thing even the crazy things can make a shot more personal and exciting.
Shoes with socks, ankle, thigh, knee high. High heel shoes, 4 – 5 inch not wedges is a must. Tennis shoes for casual images and flip-flops for running around in. Bring shoes that can go into the water if session is at a lake or other water related locations.
Items I have: Swimsuits of different styles all two peace bikinis A few dresses in different styles Makeup, lots of colors Gold, silver, white shear and white shear with hearts and black with hearts wrap material 4x6 USA and Texas Flags Rubber bands, straight pins Clips small and big for clothing ties and other holding items House coat for outdoor shootings Body oil for shinny skin White Sheep Skin Rug Background colors, black, light blue, red and white and other outdoor natural backgrounds A big black and silver throw pillow and two standard pillows with Texas flag colors Blankets for changing in areas where no changing rooms exist
